At-home knife sharpening · Orange County

Cooking should
feel this good.

You bought good knives so dinner would be a pleasure, not a chore. A former chef and butcher picks them up at your door, sharpens them at his truck, and hands them back in under an hour. Sharp, clean, and ready for tonight.

Tonight, in your kitchen

Notice what changes
the first time you cook.

The prep

It glides. It doesn't slip.

Stubborn food slices on contact, instead of caving in. Your hand relaxes, the cut goes where you meant it to, and your fingers stop being something you have to think about.

The dinner party

Your kitchen is the calm part.

Twelve people coming Saturday. Onions, herbs, a roast to carve at the table in front of everyone. Sharp knives turn the hour before guests arrive into the part you enjoy.

Your afternoon

You didn't go anywhere.

No inconvenient drop-off, no “ready in 5–7 days,” no week without your knives and needing to order out. I come to you, and you get your knives sharpened without leaving home.

How a visit goes

What to expect for your
at-home sharpening.

First

Pick-up

I arrive and collect your knives. You can either hand them directly to me or leave them on the front porch. Please ensure your knives are clean prior to your appointment.

Second

Inspection

We look over your knives together and I answer any question you may have. Determine if any knife will need extra work.

Third

Sharpening

I take your knives to my mobile workstation and sharpen them there. Feel free to go about your day, or you are more than welcome to come out and watch if you would like!

Fourth

Cleaned and Returned

I return your knives cleaned, dried, and oiled. We will review any work done on your knives and answer any other questions you may have.

Last

Effortless Prep

Feel how the new edge slices and let your knives do the work. Frequent home cooks need their knives sharpened every 9–12 months.

6-item minimum per visit. Text Brandon if you have fewer — when I'm scheduled nearby, we'll usually make it work.

Badly damaged or heirloom knives? Text me a photo and I'll quote repair on the spot.

Gather

Be the friend who
fixed everyone's knives.

Invite the people you cook with — family, the couple you always host, the neighbor who keeps borrowing your chef's knife. I set up at one house and do everyone's knives in a single visit. You pick the day, everyone saves, and they'll thank you at the next dinner.

Worked on my cheap butcher knife to my $500 Miyabis. They all feel even sharper than the first day I got 'em.

Jayson Z.Newport Beach

So nice to have them done in about an hour. No leaving them somewhere and then having to wait. No knife withdrawal!

Annie H.Laguna Niguel

I'm a stickler about my knives, and he sharpened all of them and my two pairs of kitchen shears perfectly.

I know you don't let just anyone touch your knives.

Ten years on the line and behind a butcher counter. I sharpen to your angle, on your schedule, at the back door between services — and I'll return a gyuto the way you'd want it, not the way a hardware store would.

The hands on your knives

Brandon. Chef, butcher, the guy who noticed your knives were dull.

After a decade in professional kitchens and a butcher shop, I kept cooking at friends' houses and reaching for knives that couldn't cut a tomato. Good people, good food, dangerous blades. Keeping It Sharp exists so the kitchens I care about most — home kitchens — get the same edge the pros get.
